New Store: Call it Spring

May we have a moment of silence for our dear departed Aldo, late of the Gallery at Market East?

*Silence.*

All right then. Now that that’s taken care of, we can move on to the good news: a new shoe store has moved in to Aldo’s old home! Granted, it’s a shoe store that I’d never heard of before (Call it Spring), so I had to go in and check it out.

First thought: this is the place to go for your neutral shoes this spring. The walls are just covered in beiges, blushes, browns, blacks, and whites. What’s that? You don’t yet have your spring neutrals, you say? Time to remedy that, post-haste! And why not tackle the neutral trend combined with other spring trends while we’re at it, and get you covered on all fronts?

First up, neutrals + wedges: The Maltese features a fabric upper, peep-toe with ruffle, buckled slingback, and a braided crepe-covered wedge, and a price tag of $50. They’re also available in black and orange, but the white is just so summery, don’t you think?

Next up, neutrals + booties: The Mireio has cutouts. It has woven sides. It has laces. It has a high heel, hidden platform, and a round toe. What is not to love? They’ll run you $60.

Third up, neutrals + florals:

Love this! The Bashaw has a mid-height heel, three satiny flowers up the front of the foot, a few straps at the toe and a buckled strap around the ankle, and costs $50. Also available in black.

Last up, neutrals + honeysuckle:

Call it Spring calls the color “peach” (also available in natural, white, and black), but one look shows you that the Reade is made in this season’s most touted color. More intricate weaving, shiny patent leather, a bucked ankle strap—this juicy pair costs $50.

Call it Spring also has accessories and handbags, enough sparkle to satisfy even a glitterholic like me, as well as a nice collection of flats—almost enough to make me a convert from heels! Almost.

Can’t make it to Market East? There’s also a Call it Spring in the Cherry Hill Mall.
