Snowtober

Did you guys see that snow this weekend? Unreal! I was driving back from a dance class Saturday morning in the snow and heard “Thriller” and “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas” back to back on the radio. Thank goodness I had my snow boots at hand! If you don’t have your snow boots yet, well, I guess it’s never too early. One thing I hate, though, is boring snow boots. Every other kind of women’s shoes can be adorned to within an inch of its life, and yet so many snow boots remain black, black, black without any decoration at all. Not to say that black can’t be fun:

Fur! Shiny! Buckles! This is how you do a black snow boot. The Faux Fur Leather Snow Boot by Tremp has a round toe, slightly cushioned footbed, and 13-inch shaft with a 15.25-inch circumference. Yours for $140 from Overstock.

You know what we need? More fur! The Katia by Merrell would be perfect for the world’s most stylish Iditarod racer. Full grain leather, faux fur (in spades!), stylish lacings, fleece lining for warmth (and it’s antimicrobial), an anatomical footbed... this is a boot seriously built for comfort in cold weather. Also available in black; pick up yours from Altrec for $180.

I generally think snow boots with heels are stupid. (How are you supposed to play in the snow and not kill yourself?) But these are lovely!
I love the interplay of the dark and light greys (though it also comes in browns and black). The Struts by Sketchers has a leather and fabric upper and rubber sole, a 2.75-inch heel, and a .75-inch platform. Yours for $80 from Endless.

Know what we’re missing? Pink! Ah, I love houndstooth. And pink! The Tivoli by Sorel has a leather and material upper (and that black leather has polka dots on it!), fleece lining—oh, and they come in five other versions. Between $95 and $110 from Altrec.

So now you’re ready in case we get hit by another freak storm. Stay warm, stay safe, and stay fabulous!
