Forget Me Not Revue

Looking for something to do this weekend?  Do I have an idea for you!  Saturday at 7:00 PM is the Forget Me Not Revue, a belly dance spectacular!  Some of the area’s premier belly dancers (and some big names from out of town) will be coming together at Chaplin’s, an old vaudeville theater in Spring City.  (It’s legit, folks—it’s called Chaplin’s because Charlie Chaplin performed there.)  And on Saturday, my troupe will be performing there!  We’re capping the night with a burlesque-influenced piece to Lady Marmalade from Moulin Rouge!  In the spirit, here are some sexy burlesque-style shoes!

The Sweet Dreams by Poetic License is fabulous!  Not just your average black peep toe pump, it also has polka dot netting up the front, flowers on the side, and a drawstring around the ankle to frill it up.  Adorable!  Find them on Amazon for about $50.  (Also available in a super-cute pink if you’re a size 6!)

This lovely Victorian-style boot has lace panels and delicately tooled faux leather.  They have a two-inch heel, dramatically styled pointy upper, and laces all the way up the front.  Love them?  Find them at BuyCostumes for $55.

The Augustina by Gwyneth is subtle sexy: black lace over royal blue (or bronze), pleated around the foot.  These peep-toes have a .75-inch platform and 4.75-inch heel, and can be found at DSW for $90.

Look at the tassels on the Banana Sandwich by Dan Sullivan!  Perfect for stage.  It has an almost-six-inch heel, a two-inch platform, and sass to spare.  They won’t be available until the end of July, but keep an eye on Irregular Choice and find that extra $420 you stashed somewhere!

Tickets to the Forget Me Not Revue are $15 in advance or $20 at the door.  Food is available at Chaplin’s in case you’re hungry, and it’s a BYO too!  Bring a friend, a bottle of your favorite, and settle in for a fun night of belly dancing.
