Shoes in the Kitchen

Now that you’ve filled up at Restaurant Week, you’re inspired to go into your kitchen and try for yourself, aren’t you?  I thought so!  Let’s get you started with an apron:

The Goodie Two Shoes Apron by Jessie Steele is adorable for so many reasons: the ruffles at the bottom, the big bow on the hip, the hint of pink piping... but let’s take a close-up of the print:

They’re all pairs of shoes!  Pumps, D’Orsays, sandals, peep toes, polka dots, everything your little heart could desire.  You can find the apron on Layla Grace for $27, and while you’re there, pick up the matching pot holder for $4!

Okay, you’ve got your apron.  Now, what to make?  Cookies, maybe?

This cookie cutter is the perfect high heel shape—just imagine all the fun decorating you could do on the cookies when they’re done!  Plus, the cutter itself is pink, which is a nice touch.  Pick one up for $5 from Chalet.

Maybe you feel more like cake:

This is a standing, 3D cake pan, people!  Fill up the non-stick pan with your favorite batter, bake, and you’ve soon got a stiletto that’s good enough to eat.  If you’ve ever wanted to try your hand at being a shoe designer, this would sure be a delicious way to try!  Yours for $44 from Amazon.

Well, whatever you’re making, you’ll need to measure:

I can’t decide which of the heels that top these measuring spoons I most wish was a real pair.  The black sandals with the tassels on the tablespoon?  The pink platform peep toe with rose feature on the teaspoon?  I think I’d spend too much time looking at them and not enough time paying attention to which measure I actually need to be using!  And the insides of the spoons themselves are carved with purses, as if the shoes weren’t enough girly cuteness for a single kitchen utensil.  These babies can be yours for $21 from Purse Bling

Whatever you’re making, I’m sure it’ll be fabulous—after all, you do have “good taste”!  (Groan.)

PS, if you’re looking for a cooking show with Shoe Fairy-approved credentials, try Bitchin’ Kitchen on the Cooking Channel.  The host wears ridiculously beautiful stilettos every episode, and there’s always a glamour shot of them.   You may drool for them more than the food.
