If you know shoes, you know Stuart Weitzman. The man knows shoes. (He was even called in to design the glass
slippers for the new production of Cinderella
on Broadway!) And boy, do I have
good news for you: he’s coming to Philadelphia tomorrow! He’ll be talking at the National Museum of American Jewish History,
kicking off their “Dreamers and Doers” speaker series. You’ll get to meet the man behind shoes such
as these:
The Marie
Gladiator Suede Bootie is so detailed!
Eight straps up the front (with studs on both sides), unexpected cutouts
around the ankle (love!), a four-inch heel, and a zipper up the back to let you
in. Available from Neiman
Marcus for $440.
I am such a sucker for a smoking slipper. The Lys
is a red (or black) suede loafer with an impeccably beaded crystal fleur de
lis up the front and a small square heel.
Sophistication and cool to spare!
Yours for $390 from Nordstrom.
The Plunge
Satin Bootie is so sexy—sleek black satin, a pointed toe and pointing at
the back of the ankle, an upper with a plunging cut, a four-inch heel, and a
big bow. Find them at Saks
for $455.
These are TOO FUN.
The Portholes is a neutral
wedge with flair: bright pink at the heel and toebed, and orange straps that go
every which way—including through the
3.5-inch wedge! And the strap across the
toe! Gold-rimmed portholes make this
truly something special. And hey, they’re
on sale at Zappos
for $249 instead of $375!
These are obviously the work of a master craftsman…
one that you can meet! Talk about being
in the presence of greatness!
The event is
tomorrow, June 12, at the National Museum of
American Jewish History. It begins
at 7:00 PM, and you can get tickets for $25 (or $18, if you’re a member). Replicas of some of Weitzman’s most famous
designs (including the glass slippers) will be on display!
