Devon Horse Show

If it’s the week after Memorial Day, it must be time for the Devon Horse Show.  And if it’s the Wednesday of that week, it’s Ladies Day, when the Main Line’s most sophisticated ladies don hats and dress to impress.  But it’s not just the hats they put on—it’s their shoes, too.  And they’re not messing around.  Gravel walkways?  Horse poop?  Ha!  Nothing can get in the way of these ladies and their shoes.

This pair of peep toe beauties was definitely the most spectacular pair.  The body is in shiny gold snakeskin, and the bows are covered in gleaming gold rhinestones.  They sparkled like you wouldn’t believe on an otherwise gray day.

This pair of wedges wins for height.  Sorry for the photo, but the fabric outer was a lovely gold-on-black brocade.  Points deducted for the clear plastic stripe running through them, but points added for the beautiful fabric, the fishnets, and for being an out-of-the-ordinary choice on hat day.  Win!

Cowgirl boots!  These were paired with an adorable dress and a hat in peacock blue.  The color and the stitching makes them just fancy enough for hat day, while the cowgirl boot factor is fun for a horse show.

I love this pair.  I love the gold around the bottom of the heel and up the sole, the patent leather, and the elaborate gold feature at the peep toe.  Also, nice black toenails!  Well done!
