I have to say, Blobfest
is one of my favorite times of year. I
love that a ridiculous classic “horror” movie was made in our backyard. I love that some of the buildings from that
movie are still around. I love the old
Colonial Theatre, and I love that every year they celebrate that ridiculous
movie.
Blobfest!!
Yes, Blobfest is this weekend. And what better way to show your support than
with a pair of red jelly shoes? It looks like the Blob is slowly eating your
feet… but in a stylish fashion.
The Couture
Bow Jelly Flat by Valentino is something fun and summery from the esteemed
fashion house. This jelly thong has an
elaborate, many-layered bow at the toe—it’s just a whorl of exuberant joy, isn’t
it? Oh, and that vibrant red—that’s one
of Valentino’s hallmarks! Find them at Bergdorf
Goodman for $295.
The little spikes on the Doris by Melissa Shoes will be helpful if you want to try to fight
back against the Blob! (Not really. Once the Blob gets on you, you’re done
for.) It has a comfy suede footbed, and it
smells like tutti-frutti! Yours from Neiman
Marcus for $99.
The Flat
Lattice Jelly Sandal is a woven lattice of jelly material, finished with a
peep toe and a half-inch heel. It
somehow feels covered and open at the same time! Also available in ten (ten!) other colors (one
with glitter!); your choice for $24 from American
Apparel.
I heart Blobfest.
This red jelly heel is the Raspberry by Mel by Melissa.
It’s so Barbie-tastic I can barely stand it! Doesn’t it remind you a little of Barbie
shoes? It has a 4.5-inch heel and a
hidden one-inch platform, cushioned footbed, and is topped with a pink jelly heart. Also available in black with red and white
with red; your choice for $46 from 6pm.
Blobfest is
this weekend! Check out the Colonial’s
website for all events.
