Hello deputy shoe fairies!
I'm happy to announce that Philly Shoe Fairy's fourth birthday party will be Sunday, April 26! My good friends at the DSW in King of Prussia are graciously hosting us again. There will be shoes, raffles, the annual High Heel Walk Off... and of course I'll be baking, so come hungry! The party will begin at 9:00 AM, and go until 11:00 AM. Save the date!
It's with mixed feelings that I also announce that the blogaversary party is also a farewell party. After four years, I've decided it's time to turn in my wand and will no longer be posting at Philly Shoe Fairy. I will never stop being the Shoe Fairy to those in need, and I will never stop loving these sparkly, heeled wonders, but after four years I thought it might be time to think about getting some free time back. It's been more fun than I would have expected, and it's certainly gone on longer, but to everything there is a season.
Thanks for coming with me on this ride. I hope you can join me on April 26.
Love and sparkles,
The Shoe Fairy

Save the Date-- Philly Shoe Fairy turns 3!
If it’s a Monday and I’m giving you a post, you
know it’s important news. And here it
is: Philly Shoe Fairy will soon be turning three years old, and you're
personally invited to join the festivities!
Date: Sunday, May 4
Time: 9:30-11:00 AM
Location: DSW, King of Prussia Mall
My awesome friends at the King of Prussia DSW have
agreed to open early just for Philly Shoe Fairy readers! We'll have the whole store to ourselves to
shop and frolic to our hearts' content, enjoy food and raffles, hold the second
annual High Heel Walk Off (bring your fierceness)... plus you will have the
Shoe Fairy's personal attention for any shoe problems you might be having! We always have a lot of fun. Write it on your calendar and drop me a line
if you're coming so I know how many delicious treats to bring!
Extra bonus fun: I’ll probably be heading over to
the fun, beer, and goat races at Sly Fox Bockfest
post-party. Wear your new shoes and come
along for a whole day of fun!
Love and sparkles,
The Shoe Fairy

Save the Date: Philly Shoe Fairy Turns 1!
Save the date!
Sunday, May 6, 9:00-11:00 AM
I know Monday's not a regular post day, but I had to let you all know about Philly Shoe Fairy's first birthday party! That's right, the blog turns one year old on May 3, and in honor of the occasion the DSW (a.k.a. the Mothership) in King of Prussia has generously agreed to open early just for Philly Shoe Fairy readers on Sunday, May 6! That's right: we're going to have two whole hours in the KoP DSW of private shopping time just for us, so we can run around and try on shoes and no one will look at us weirdly when we squeal for joy. (In fact, I'm pretty sure everyone'll be squealing right along with you.)
Not to mention there will be prizes! Shirts, totes, other shoe goodies... and the best part: one attendee will win a $25 gift card to DSW! What is happier than free shoes? And since it's the morning (9:00-11:00 AM) I will bring muffins so we can keep our energy up while we shop! Mmm, muffins.
So write it in your calendars and let me know if you're planning on coming (the number of attendees will determine how many raffle prizes I pick up and how many muffins I make). Bring your friends, bring your family, bring your neighbors-- anyone who loves shoes!
Church-going/choir-singing readers: this is what Saturday evening vigils were made for!
After-party information: Let's not stop the fun after the party! Pull on your new shoes and come with me to the Sly Fox Bockfest in Phoenixville for German food, one of the largest selection of bock-style beers in the US, and... er... goat races. Yes, goat races!
A special thanks to Nancy at DSW, who is helping us do this. I met with her Friday, and she's just as excited as we are! Of course, though, while I was there I had to look around, and I couldn't leave without picking up a new pair of shoes:
The Yasmine by Franco Sarto is so classic! Bone and black, punch detailing, a little bow on the peep-toe... and a three-inch heel with a .75-inch platform makes it very comfortable to walk in. Also available in bone and tan; find them online at DSW for $60, or take a look in your local DSW's clearance section and pick them up for $36 like I did!

Welcome from the Shoe Fairy!
Welcome, shoe-loving Philadelphia women (and shoe lovers paying visits from other cities)! Allow me to introduce myself: I am the Shoe Fairy, or so my friends dubbed me after realizing that I have an almost magical way of finding them just the shoe they need when they think all hope is lost. (Not to mention magical closets, that somehow manage to contain my 100 pairs!)
There are few things on this earth that I love more than shoes and the city of Philadelphia, and I figured it was high time to bring the two together. With Philly Shoe Fairy, I hope to create the go-to site for shoe-loving Philly gals like myself, alerting you to the opening of new shoe stores, shoe-related events, sales, helpful tips, styles for the season, storage ideas, shoe-related gifts—everything that makes shoe ownership fun! I’ll even have an occasional “Ask the Shoe Fairy” feature, so if you have any shoe-related questions, just send them to me at phillyshoefairy@gmail.com and I’ll see what I can do about getting you some answers!
Attention Deputy Shoe Fairies! In order to fuel my shoe habit, I have a full-time job. (Yes, I know; it really cuts into my shoe shopping time!) Because of that, I need your help: if you pass a store that’s having a sale, let me know. If you see a new store opening or an old one closing, let me know. If you just find an interesting shoe-related something, let me know. I will pass your information along to our network of shoe lovers so they don’t miss a beat and don’t spend a dollar more than they have to. If I use your tip, you will become a Deputy Shoe Fairy and get recognition here! Together, as a shoe community, we can build the most complete Philadelphia shoe site on the web, and other cities will be majorly jealous.

About the Shoe Fairy
- Sarah
- I'm just a girl who likes shoes. (Understatement!) But eventually, my friends noticed that when they had a difficult shoe problem, I was able to almost magically find them just the pair they needed. Thus the Shoe Fairy nickname was born! When I'm not obsessing over shoes I'm probably at a museum or a show or enjoying something else that Philadelphia has to offer!
The ultimate Philadelphia shoe community.
