Shoes of a Different Stripe

I’ve been on the lookout for zebra print shoes lately, since I was hoping they could join giraffe and cheetah in my shoe menagerie. Lo and behold, as I perused the sale section of the mothership (er, DSW), I found some! A pair of rockin’ zebra flats! The Zelara by G by Guess is zebra print, yes, but it also has three ruffles of dark purple satin and two rows of shining faceted beads. I fell in love with them at first sight. If you have a similar feeling, you can find them at DSW. They’re $40 online, but I got them for about $10 less in-store. When I mentioned my find to my Writing for the Arts classmates on Wednesday, they squealed for a zebra shoe post. I am happy to oblige, ladies! Let’s start off with a nice wedge: These beauties have a heel just shy of five inches and a 1.5-inch platform just robed in zebra, plus a criss-cross feature at the toe and across the foot. They’re just so sharp—I love it. Find them at Bare Feet Shoes for $30.

Prefer a heel? The Moora by Style&co. have a satin/chiffon upper with a striking black chiffon bow across the peep toe (I love those three strong black stripes up the side) and black patent leather on the four-inch heel and three-quarter-inch platform. They’re so chic! Pick them up at Macy’s for just under $70.

How about a bootie?

The Zebra Cut Out Boots by Trey86 have a five-inch stacked heel and a half-inch platform with a zipper up the back to help you get them on and off. Oh, and they’re red on the inside—fierce. You can find them in scattered sizes around the internet, but if you’re a 7 or a 9 you can get them from Amazon for just about $30.

And maybe one more flat:
This flat has a textured zebra upper with a patent leather bow on the toe. They also come in leopard if you like your shoes with more teeth, and you can get them for under $21 from GoJane.

I came across more zebra-print slippers than I was expecting in my search, so when you kick off your heels at the end of a long day why not slip these on? Fur-lined zebra pom-pom slipper booties! And non-skid soles, too. They also come in lavender zebra and pink zebra, and you can get them from Crazy for Bargains for $16. Enjoy—and go a little wild!
