Convertible shoes fascinate me. Are they wishful thinking? Or do they fill a genuine need? Feats of magical engineering to make a tall
heel go to a short heel or a flat, while the body of the shoe is still
comfortable no matter how you wear it?
Eh, who cares!
The idea is cool. So nerd out
with these convertible heels!
This pair by Day2Night
is a classic patent leather round toe pump, except this one comes with two
heels: a low one-inch heel or a high 3.75-inch heel. Press a button on the underside to switch
them out! Yours for $149.
These are fun!
The Katharina by Tanya Heath are
inspired by a corset, which you can see in the gold-tipped black laces woven
through the gold trim up the front of the shoe.
Comes with two heels (1.7 inches and 3.3 inches), though you can also
buy them individually in many heights and shapes! The shoes run about $665, though, so
I’m not sure how many extra heels you’ll want to buy…
I love a pointy toe with a bow, and the Nicia by Camileon has both! It also has a 1.5-inch heel and a 3.25-inch heel,
so you’re set for whatever you need!
Also available in brandy; yours for $119.
Okay, so these are awesome, convertibility or no. In fact, the Ambi Iliad by Nael Coce aren’t convertible in the strict sense of
the word—instead, it’s a shoe inside a shoe.
See the flats on the inside? That’s
what you pull out when you need a low shoe.
But it’s the outside that’s amazing; all glitter and spikes and
four-inch stilettos. Yours for $140.
These convertible shoes by Pleaser may stay the same heel height (4.5 inches, with a half-inch
platform), but they look like two completely different shoes depending on
whether you have the bootie upper on or not.
Black pump with a fancy buckle?
Lacey, tie-up boot? You
pick! You get both for $60
(whole sizes only).
Hey, as women, it’s our prerogative to change our
minds. Now our shoes can keep up!
