Restaurant Week

Yes, winter is dreary.  Thank goodness the good people at Center City District schedule two weeks of restaurant bliss to help us get through to February—yes, it’s Restaurant Week!  Hooray!  Dozens and dozens of restaurants are offering lunch and/or dinner menus of three courses (or more) for $20 or $35, respectively.

You can dine around the world, even!  Go to Estia for some Greek, and enjoy spanakopita, kotopoula, and baklava.

The Nausicaa by Ancient Greek Sandals is very cool, with that trim around the ankle!  It looks like ancient Greek black figure pottery.  You could be Odysseus sailing home over the waves in these!  (But hurry home, Odysseus, since Restaurant Week doesn’t last forever.)  Get these on super sale from Stylebop for $64.

How about Mexican?  Head to Tequilas for empanadas, cochinita pibil, and flan!

This pair of heels looks like the most fun party of dead people I’ve ever seen.  Look at those skeletons dancing!  Boy, I hope the afterlife is like that.  In the meantime I’ll just eat Mexican food, I guess.  But you can pick up these party shoes for $100 from Bonanza.

Perhaps French.  Head down to Bistrot La Minette for escargots à la bourguignonne, cassoulet de Toulouse, and tarte tatin.

The Adon Eiffel Tower Flat Sandal by Kate Spade is sophisticated and cool at the same time.  It’s the Eiffel Tower without screaming “EIFFEL TOWER!!”  It has a slight quarter-inch wedge, and an upper made of leather (and metallic leather! not metal plate).  Yours for $228 from Neiman Marcus.

Or British, maybe?  The Brits aren’t known for their fabulous food, but the menu at The Dandelion looks pretty good: winter root vegetable soup, pan roasted Scottish salmon, and cranberry bread pudding.

I sort of love this pair of heels—it has the Union Jack, of course, but I like the red on the sole and the blue on the heel (and what a heel!), but also the newsprint on the outside—reminds me of baskets of fish and chips.  Pick them up for $24-$36 depending on the size from Ali Express.

So grab a fork and brave the winter—it’s worth it!  Restaurant Week runs through January 31 (but isn’t available on Saturday).
