We’re nearing the end of June, which you probably
know is the most popular month for weddings.
In honor of that, this week I give you back-to-back bridal advice on
what to do in the shoe department!
And basically, by that, I mean I’m sending you to Hey Lady.
What is Hey Lady, you ask? It was started by a pair of sisters who
demanded both comfort and style in a shoe.
When it couldn’t be found, they designed it themselves. And they did some serious engineering—just look at what goes into one of these!
I mean, seriously.
An insole typically seen in running and basketball shoes. Extra support for the inner arch. A dancer’s toe box that won’t squish
toes. And that specially-designed
heel? It comes in both three- and
four-inch heights, so you can pick which will work best for you and your dress. They don’t come cheap, but then neither do
other engineered things (like bridges).
And really, of all the days to splurge on your shoes so you can just be
able to WEAR them all day, this is the day.
They have almost 30 different designs (heels,
wedges, and flats) in a variety of colors, so who knows—your bridesmaids might
want to check out the site too, so they can keep up with you dancing all night! Check out a couple:
The Knotty
Lady is named for the interwoven straps around the toe—some dotted with
rhinestones! Also available in white,
blush, and platinum in addition to this beautiful mint green; your choice for $280.
Aww, this one is called the Princess Buttercup. (I
assume because mawwage is
what brings us together today.) The
body is micro-fiber suede trimmed in satin (periwinkle, dusty rose, or turquoise),
which is then gathered in a big bow in the back. Yours for $268.
Want an ankle strap? Try the Pre-Nope. See the beautiful crystals in a swirling
design up the front? Gorgeous. The outer is silk-satin in white, gunmetal,
and almost an eggplant purple. You could
wear these again and again! They’ll run you
$320.
And now, the wedding shoe to end all wedding shoes:
the Twinkletoes with Crystals. Just look at them: white silk-satin with
elaborate jewels at the peep-toes, and small crystals hand-applied all around
the foot. I have officially decided what
shoes I’m wearing to my hypothetical future wedding. Also available in silver and cobalt—your choice
for $320.
Seriously, invest in your feet for your big day,
so you can dance the night away without pain or having to resort to going
barefoot. Thank you, Hey Lady, for
giving us legit stylish shoes that won’t give us grief!
